The State News

I started at The State News in January 2021, as the Cops and Courts Reporter. I switched positions in August 2022 and I am now the Deputy City Desk Editor and Senior City Reporter. I have extensive experience covering local breaking news, where I primarily specialized in policing in East Lansing, the Greater Lansing area and on the Michigan State University campus.

I have written up to around 10+ articles bi-weekly and my turn-over rate ranges from ten/thirty minutes to one hour. At the State News, the top five posts from November 2021 included four of my pieces. My piece, “Search efforts for Brendan Santo ramp up, including search in Red Cedar River,” was the most read, receiving 16,000+ views.

I rebooted the Crime Warp podcast. The first episode opened with 80+ listens. I have also appeared on “The Roundup” podcast for MSU’s student radio, Impact89 FM.

In addition, I have written entertainment columns quite often. My “American Horror Story” column with City Desk Editor, Griffin Wiles, reached over 9,000 views in early October 2021.
