In March 2022, I interviewed a reluctant group of Lansing residents that posed as minors on online dating websites. This time, they confronted an MSU doctoral student who planned to have a threesome with a 13-year-old girl…or so he thought.

In October 2021, I conducted an investigation regarding MSU’s Police and Public Safety, or MSUPD plan to conduct armed rounds with resident assistants, or RAs in dorm buildings. I interviewed resident assistants for this piece in various neighborhoods on MSU’s campus. They were kept anonymous. This investigation was conducted in relation to training received by RAs by Deputy Traci Ruiz. Ruiz was put on administrative leave the week after the training was given. She is no longer employed by MSU/MSUPD. The day after the investigation was published, another high-ranking MSUPD official was placed on administrative leave.
